Hanging Awareness

“Lots of yellow papers were hanging down  from the wooden structure.  The wind was blowing through all of them. As if it had come to emphasize the content. “

Hanging Awareness is a two-part installation in yellow.  One half of the project provokes questioning the state between your own self and the topic of sustainability.  The hanging question cards can be removed and answered, or they stay where they are as an eternal provocation.

The second part refers to the word ‘Zusammenkunft’ (gathering) in the context of climate, city and future. Four texts are showing different scenarios / realities that revolve  around this word and should innervate the reader to reflect. What do we unterstand by gathering?  What role does this word play today?  How important will this word be in the future?

Relational Encounters between the Arts and Climate Research’ is a project of the Institute Practices and Theories in the Arts (IPTK) at the Bern Academy of the Arts (HKB) in cooperation with the mLAB of the University of Bern, founded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).
